CONSTRUCTION OF SCHOOL CLASSROOMS

Highlights

  • Build classrooms
  • Providing schools with conducive physical infrastructure
  • Providing good quality facilities, is crucial for a successful school system altogether.

The quality of school buildings is critically important in the drive for improving the overall quality of education. Good quality education facilities provide teachers and students with conducive environments that make a real difference in learning and teaching.

Successful teaching and learning depend on the availability of many important resources, and good-quality facilities are crucial for a successful school system altogether. The Department of Education’s Goal 24 of Action Plan 2014, Towards the Realization of Schooling 2025, is to provide every school with the physical infrastructure and an environment that inspires learners to want to come to school and learn, and teachers to teach.

Therefore TSGN’s mandate to build classrooms for schools supports the Department’s action plan. Providing schools with more classrooms will give learners a more conducive spacious environment that will stimulate their minds to learn and improve their performance. Meanwhile, it will also lessen teachers’ burden of over-packed learners in one classroom, because of the lack of classrooms available.

Overcrowded classrooms create a number of issues for both learners and teachers, such as lack of individual attention for learners, teachers being overburdened with work, etc, and such concerns exacerbate fractures within an already stumbling education system.

Education needs are derived from a range of factors, including teaching spaces, defined, and learning areas, which constitute the curricula of the different levels of the system. TSGN aims to ensure that schools in rural areas have adequate classrooms. Essentially this project aims to move towards achieving an overall quality education experience for all.

The physical facilities of a school reveal its standards and the activities within it. Rural communities and remote schools in South Africa need facilities that reflect their potential, with resources and infrastructure that maximize their educational capabilities.

The South African education system and its beneficiaries, the pupils, and educators have to be in a space that is most suitable to transform the state of their lives and an area that affirms their values. A good environment reflects success and opportunity for learners.
Therefore TSGN is making an active effort to make learning environments as comfortable as possible for pupils. The space encourages the pupils to learn, its beauty and the effort put into the school’s upkeep reflect how valuable the learner is.
